by hansan v. on It's an experience. You have to go at least once. The waitstaff were friendly and the owner was great. It's just awesome. The ladies of AsiaSF are great. They got some of the orders wrong, took a long time and multiple requests to fix these, and they served appetizers and entrees out of order for some of the guests at our party. That being said, it's a fun spot, but the music is pretty lousy. No reflection on the upstairs, though.
by Marilyn W. on Rosa Mexicana is one of my favorite restaurants. However, I must qualify that by saying that I always order the same thing. I've found what I love and, for the moment, I just don't want anything else. They always push the Pomegranite Margarita because it is their signature drink but l'unica is THE best traditional margarita in Atlanta. Just be careful because it will knock you on your keester. My husband and I always order the tableside guacamole and the Fileta con Hongos, a filet mignon with a mushroom, tequila, cream sauce. The steak is consistently done just right and the sauce is fabulous. Other reviews state that the portions are small for the price. We actually split this meal and usually still leave some of the rice and beans behind. However, we are not huge eaters so this may not work for everyone. We have always had good service at Rosa and they have even started to remember us and bring us a little complimentary amouse bouche when we come. Yes it's expensive but it's a gourmet mexican restaurant not a neighborhood hole-in-the-wall. They always have some kind of seasonal menu that impresses me with it's creativity (not enough to tempt me away from the fileta yet but one of these days I will branch out).
by Yolande Pafundi on No. Just...no. Again, it's one of those Austin Land (tm) places that I can't get behind. The food is insipid and tastes like someone just heated it up from a case of El TGI McFunsterenos in the freezer in the back. The service makes me want to smack a college student and tell them it is NOT all about them, that their band sucks, and their MySpace page does too. Way back when, I was actually refused drinks on a work outting when I had lost my license. I had my birth certificate and a photo ID, and I was still refused. My boss kept buying shots and putting them in my Coke. At one point, the waiter took my drink away from me. In addition, there's always a wait for crappy food and even crappier service, which makes it even worse in my book. And parking can be a nightmare at this place. All in all, I HATE Trudy's and even more, I hate the fact that people actually like it. Why? I just don't get it. You can't hear people talk because it's so freakin' loud, the staff is rude and the food is horrible. It blows my mind that the same people own South Congress Cafe, which is a completely different animal.
