This is an update to my review last May because since then I have been a frequent fixture at the downstairs market area for weekend brunch. I must say that it's one of my favorite spots to hang out on Sunday or get some work done while enjoying a Doghead biscuit (sausage, Tillamook cheddar, thick cut bacon on a huge biscuit the size of a dog's head) or one of their other delicious breakfast items or sandwiches. Plus they do homemade desserts such as moon pies, nutter butters, chocolate almond croissants, delish! so this is why my rating for just the market area downstairs gets a bump up to 4 stars. I have not eaten dinner there in awhile. Brunch on the main level of the restaurant is made happy due to the yummy mini beignets they provide in lieu of a bread/muffin basket. Old review: I do agree that the space is beautiful, but the food is lacking. My friend and I both had dishes that were WAY too salty - I had the halibut or some white fish, I don't recall the exact name; he had the gumbo. The best thing about the place was the ambiance, the bartender and our waitress. I think it definitely has the potential to be great, but they need to work out some kinks in the kitchen.

I love going there to meet my friends and have the drinks with them. So far, I have yet find a cute woman to go home with, but that is okay. lol. Oh, I had to add something I forget to mention. I am profoundly deaf, so finding a nice bar is hard for me. Charlie's have more people who can sign or do not mind to writing with me (to communicate with me). On the Fridays and Saturdays, there is a better bet for these kind of people to be there. Can't wait for this coming Friday!
