This place is nice on the inside and chill. Definitely doesn't get rowdy or even feel like a dance club for that matter. It was crowded on a Saturday before 11pm but there was not a fun vibe. Everyone was standing around doing their own thing. Make sure before you go, put yourself on the guestlist so you don't have to pay $10 to get in. And get in before 11 because that's when they supposedly cut off the guest list. I'd go back, but maybe with my boyfriend, just to chill.

Why people feel the need to write a bad review, when it is them with flawed expectations is beyond me. If you don't like Mexican food, and you don't like long waits - why would you go to a popular Mexican restaurant - only to complain about it on rateclubs a few days later. Same with RISE. If you like house and techno, if you like hanging out late and meeting lots of cool people, if you like the idea of the community that dance music brings together - go to RISE. If you like to booze it up all night, dance to tunes you heard on the radio 17 times this week, and are homophobic or unable to understand that you have to pay for exclusivity - don't go to RISE. Sounds pretty simple to me. RISE brings in the best DJs in the city, country, world to play - everyone from Josh Wink and Carl Craig, to Gabriel and Dresden, Chus and Ceballos, and Danny Tenaglia. They also have a friendly staff, a beautiful space, and a lot of great regulars that are fun to hang out with and easy to approach. RISE is a world class club in our backyard. Period.

Even though it was packed with tourists, the food here at Tao is delicious. The sushi was fresh, the miso sea bass was to die for and their chocolate molten cake with coconut ice cream was orgasmic. So if you are in the mood for some yummy Asian food in midtown, then I would say try this place. Just beware of the cheesy midwestern accents and extreme blonde streaks.
