great place for a burger, cheese sticks, a chicken salad or a milk shake. they have a big screen tv, a couple of video games, and almost just enough parking. this is 5 star rated for "college cuisine." if you like popcorn ice, use the machine on the left.

Solid. I've been here at least a dozen times and feel its always been a 4-5 star experience/place to go. The food, if you go early, is quite tasty and easy on the wallet. I've tried almost everything on the menu and honestly liked it all. While its not 5 start service or plating or even ingredients...its just down right good. As for the other part...you have to hit this place when they open up the dance floor. The DJs spin quality beats from West Africa, the Caribbean, latin sources, and even North American artists. Everyone is here to have a good time and just bounce around. It gets crazy humid so wear clothes accordingly. The cover is also usually only $2-3. Most of the time it is nothing. Getting drinks would be the only drawback. While pushing the envelope of the fire code maximum occupancy there rarely is enough bartender help to quickly serve you. The signature drinks are OK and I have found that they are more a novelty. However, you're probably not here to get your drink on...you've ended up here...so leisurely drinking the rest of the night suits the service you'll get.

I'm not really reviewing the Cat Club per se, as I've only been to 1984 on thursdays. So, 1984. I had fun. But really the only reason I did so was because there was two rooms playing music, so if it suddenly became butt-rock-power hour I could escape to the other room to hear something else. It's definately a *bit* meat market-y, but the the crowd is generally friendly. Strange mix of yuppies and pseudo hipster types. (At least its not the SUPER hipsters on their fixies with weed-whacker hairdos disdaining your very existence) My favorite parts of the night, though, are comming really early like the dork I am -- and actually having room to dance to the good music -- not just the yuppie crowd pleasers -- and the very end of the night-- when said yuppies have already picked up on each other, or drug each other outta there, so I can dance in peace.
