by Tim C. on This place is awesome. The outside is lined with neon lights just on the outskirts of Little Tokyo, how could you miss this place. The joint is certainly decorated and the seats in this little room are so 1800's and comfortable. I love furniture like this. The rateclubs Elite party, we just packed this place where I was having a hard time getting to the other side of the bar. Seems as though the bar area were rateclubsers and the stage viewing area were all the regulars. They looked like deers in your headlights like they didn't know what hit them. ha ha Damrak gin in a Stephy-tini, nothing tini bout it. It was tasty and may I have another please.......................now. ha ha, it was certainly a little bit hard to get a drink. Us rateclubsers were sure making the girls behind the bar work. They kept on pouring, shaking, pouring, shaking, awesome place with awesome bartenders. The pictures I put up of the ladies of Bordello, that's more than a few reasons to come throw a few dollars for a beer or two or three. Unless you rather drink something on the rocks. All that gin, and cherry coke I had, I really wanted to get a Guinness on tap. How cool is that? I got a Guinness for Laura before I left. I want me a Guinness now.
by Lesley Rovner on Dante's is definitely an Atlanta experience that is unlike any other places I can imagine. They have a pirate ship wrecked in the middle of the main dining room where live jazz bands play in the evening. Even if you can't get on the boat, pretty much anywhere you sit is going to feel interesting here. They have all kinds of nooks and crannies where they've hidden tables. Once I sat at a 2-seater on the stairs leading to the 2nd floor, which sounds crowded, but was kind of novels. Dante himself stopped by while he was gnawing on a bowl of ice cream and explained why nonsmokers get more enjoyment out of food. Crazy old man. The food itself is food-style, which is fun, if not always filling. It's cool to get skewers and dunk them and experiment with different ways that things might turn out. All the food products are high quality. The cheese plate is pretty incredible also, if you're into cheese, which you should be. Unless you're vegan. Probably don't come here if you're vegan. Great place for a date or a fancy friend night gathering. But I'd advise getting reservations-- it fills up pretty quick.
