by M. G. on Went to Ecco last night with some friends and we all had a horrible experience. The girls in our group did not have to pay a cover but my boyfriend had to pay a $30 cover! WTF this is not Vegas!!! Inside the club, it was a sausage fest filled with guys wearing the same striped Macy's sale shirt. The club was half empty, weak drinks were pricey and filled with mostly soda. The dj only played house music and did not seem to be aware that he was the ONLY ONE enjoying his itunes play list. The few people inside the club were all standing around like it was a junior high dance and waiting for some decent music to be played. After an hour of boredom, we left the club and went to The Room a couple doors down and had a great time with good music, well mixed drinks and better looking people. Obviously, we will not be returning to the Ecco which by the way is not so eco friendly...it takes more than led lighting, cement, bamboo plants at the bar and organic liquor to claim that your an ecco friendly establishment. For one, you need to get rid of all the paper towel waste used in your restrooms if you would like to be called ecco.
by Dak L. on I'm only giving this place 3 stars because the stairs in this place is no joke. This particular night, there was about 5 levels that was opened. Elevators were not available to the public which means: drunk people + stairs = no bueno. The dance floor was not catered to people who like to get the freak on because the space was very limited. If you get a chance to go to the roof patio, its quite nice to look over Hollywood blvd. Other than that, Kress was ok not as bad as i thought it would be.
by Carl Jody on It was Leather Fair Weekend. We walked in to find sweaty, shirtless, gay men dancing all over the floor. I was grossed out by the sweatiness, trying to find an empty pathway so I wouldn't get an unwanted sweatbath by the time I reached the courtyard. My friend was wearing a black jacket when someone walked up to him to ask, "Do you have the stuff?" Sorry, we don't have that stuff. I forgot to mention the guy with only leather chaps standing outside. ONLY leather chaps, yes, you are licking your lips right now aren't you?
