As a venue this place is awesome. Saw Tainted Love there last night and it was absolutely fantastic. So why, you may ask, does it only get 2 stars? Because of the unprofessional, lame staff. One of the bartenders loved my (drunk) friend's sunglasses, so she let her wear them. She wanted them back. Another friend asked the bartender to please give them back, and her response? "Well, I really like them. I don't see why I should have to give them back." And she didn't. Bimbos, your venue is classy. Please hire some equally classy servers.

Cute, modern, and hip. My favorite thing about this restaurant is it's "different" atmosphere--down to the bright orange animal seats in the lounge area. (I regret not jumping one when I had the chance, boo.) Foodwise it was pretty good. I went with a large group and we were able to order 4 or so "small plates" and split comfortably among everyone. In addition, each person ordered their own "large plate"--I got the Spinach Ravioli though they definitely had a wide selection of other plates like Chilean Sea Bass, a salmon dish, Chicken Pad Thai, among others that I don't remember. The Ravioli was good but a bit sickening after chowing down 3 huugee pieces, I had trouble finishing the last piece. This might have been partly because I ate a spinach pita for lunch so it may have been too much spinach for one day! In all, now I'm excited to visit the other Continental restaurant to compare the differences. Next time I'm going to pay attention to the decor more closely and also check out the one-way mirror in the bathroom. I was late to dinner and my friends were waiting so didn't really get to enjoy the decor once we started talking.

We went there for a Tuesday night business event.  I won't mention the name, because the business has a lot of smart, talented individuals and I think they just made a bad nightlife choice.  Must not read Rateclub. :)  This place doesn't deserve to be called a San Francisco Harlot.  I mean, it's not lush, sumptuous, tantalizing, erotic, inviting, or flirtatious in any way.  I mean, it's just two levels of lots of black, lots of sheetrock, lighting that is not creative or flattering to anyone, (Cougars noted below, take note!) and general pretension. It starts with the bouncers outside clad in thick black leather jackets that might also have body armor under them, who knows?  I felt like I was trying to get into @17th in downtown Oakland.  We were carded, had our bags checked on the way in - I almost expected to be frisked.  Good thing I left my piece at home! ;)  Felt like security overkill for the area and the event, and like they were trying really hard to impress somebody. (the club) The paintings were semi-interesting, but that was the only visual relief.  It felt so low-budget and not creative at all in the decor.  Lots of black used in the interior, chairs, etc.  It looked like someplace the vampires in the original Blade movie would hang out.  Or someplace vampires go to bore themselves to death.  hardy har.  Bar service was OK for me, bad for my girl.  If you go, see if they'll make you a Comatose Vampire, which is maybe a bloody mary laced with morphine or something like that. some cool people work there, though, apparently, so I modified mine to 2 stars. :)
