by vicki i. on Cafe Cocomo is generally a good salsa place, where many of the guests know each other. Occasionally, a band like Tito Garcia shows up. This band is essentially a mambo band, not salsa. For the "third best salsa club in the country" Cafe Cocomo should stick to salsa. We also have to complain about the DJ's. One reason most of us love salsa is the incredible variety and creativity of the salsa musicians currently composing and performing right now. Why are some of the DJ's playing rhythms other than salsa? A few rumbas, claves, reggaetons and merengues are fine, but when these dominate the evenings, it gets frustrating. We will still go to Cafe Cocomo's but we will make sure to check who's playing (especially to avoid Tito Garcia, who demands applause and brags about his qualities and inserts long boring un-danceable jams into what could be a really lively party.) We love Julio Bravo who has the humility to play great classic songs by other artists, as well as new contemporary music. He doesn't expect the crowd to kneel before him. His band keeps getting better. Thanks for the new dancing floor - it's great. The bartenders are very pleasant and not money-grubbing.

The food is a con-fusion of East Indian and Mexican, very unique but they pulled it off well. Want a tip? We went here with a $50 coupon from http://restaurant.comthat cost us $4 and we ended up dropping $250 between the four of us because everything was so good. Very reasonable for how much we ordered. We started with cocktails (which they have a good selection of some creative ones), moved to apps (they're are some really good ones), entrees (again, a good selection and some winners here), dessert and after dinner drinks. We posted up for nearly three hours and had a great time. Auf.
by Marlene Koeck on great place to go clubbing. has two floors of dance floors. BUt always pack downstairs. u can hardly move.. Bouncer is nice that gave us water. i tried sake bomb for five bucks, which was very good mix. being in line is not so bad... watch where u stepping!.. I stepped on gum with my new pumps. hey! that not KooL.
