Ambience -- live music, kitschy-but-classy signage, a regularly rotating gallery, napkin drawings on the bathroom walls -- is "rite" on (ho ho). Might want to hire another waitress -- on a busy night, only one held it down, to what I could tell was the best of her ability in terms of politeness and accuracy. Pies pies pies.
by Erin Mentzer on I wish I could give it 3.5 stars cuz I would but I truly can't give it 4 stars. Now it does get 5 stars for setting and ambiance. The room is beautiful. These guys spent some serious coin on the layout and decor. That being said the food was just OK. We had a private dinner in the PDR upstairs for 18 people. The room overlooked the dining room which was definitely a scene. The service was attentive and courteous but not truly warm or memorable. We were never without anything but it was a bit methodical. The meal flowed well. The tuna tartare was good as was the Filet. The chocolate dessert was very tasty. It was like a flourless chocolate brownie with a hot gooey center with housemade vanilla bean ice cream. All in all it was good but not great.
by Jen L. on A neighborhoody joint. Disheveled regulars anchor the scene while young scensters drift in and out. Burgers are a great top-off to drinking, but wouldnt come here just for the food. Bar staff are a mouthy bunch and heavy handed with the pour. What more could you ask for in an era of the melancholia of today's stand-offish bar staff? Piano shimmers after several stiffies.
