by Mary Grace V. on My my, classssy! Well, more or less. Upstairs more so classy cuz of the lounging areas, but downstairs is where you wanna go if you have the urge to let loose and dance away. There's a bar in both areas, so no worries. First of all, HAPPPPY BIRTHDAY Tracy! This night was definitely for you! This has been on my bookmark for the longest time! Finally had an excuse to check this place out!! Absolutely.. NO COVER! NO GUESTLIST! NO DRESS CODE! Score! However, drinks are definitely expensive, so that explains the no cover charge. $10 for a fruity drink. Yeah, right--hella Vegas style?!?! Lines can be long but moves quickly. And even though there's no dress code, people tend to dress nice because of the classy setting. So I highly suggest looking good!! The crowd is a little older. Most commonly mid-late 20's. And the music had the oldschool classic HipHop with the occasional new! Overall good mix. Great vibe. Nice setting. One downfall was the terrible wait for the ladies bathroom. But thats common, cuz you know, it takes too long to undress ourselves and then check if we still look good or not minus being drunk. Right?! Another downfall was that the downstairs looked like a basement and felt like a sauna.
by Yi Hirte on I'm not sure why this venue entails such terrible reviews. I went here last nite to see Beirut and had a fantastic time. We got there quite early, so we decided to have a bite to eat at Honey. The service was MUY TERIBLE! The server brought us appetizers we didn't order.. not once - but twice! When our correct orders finally came out, we were actually pretty impressed and surprised at how good the food was. Food eaten, and some tequlila and beer down, we headed into the concert.. The venue was nice and capacious. It wasn't sweaty nor did it have an armpit smell. The crowd was nice and the bartenders even nicer. The drinks were spendy, and even the bartenders knew it. We were making jokes at how ridiculous the prices were. The sound quality was great and you can really get a good view of the band from most anywhere in the venue. We stayed upstairs for most of the show and had a clear shot of the stage. I would definitely come back to this venue for a concert. I had an extremely pleasant time.. But then again, I didn't go on a nite where there are a bunch of meatheads all coked out or a ton of girls whose behavior is ecstacy induced.. I wasn't bumped around by silicone breasts or men (?) in wifebeaters who look like they had greased themselves up to go dancing.. So, being that I was devoid of all that.. I had a great time! And Beirut was simply fantastic!! I can't wait till Zach comes back to Los Angeles..
by Blake B. on I'm giving the Majestic a 2 because it lives up to what it is supposed to be: a dive diner for 24 hour gaggling, a glorified Waffle House, post bar. If you're like me and feel a little ish about dirty dining, you'll need more than a couple drinks before coming here. I will admit, though, I'm a pansy when it comes to germs. I know lots of people who are all about this place, though I've never known them to visit sober. Because there's a severe lack of Waffle Houses downtown, this is pretty much the place to go for cheap late night eats, unless you feel like driving to the outskirts of the city. Every time I come here I get a short stack of pancakes, because they're next to impossible to screw up. I've also dined on cheese grits, hashbrowns and other typical diner fare. Getting in here on a Friday night right around 2 AM is often hard. They end up with a line out the door most nights, since there's so many boozers and nowhere else to go. If you're going to do it, do it right and come at 4. Then you can get a table and be polished off enough to imagine you're in a palace.
