by Pierre Deprey on came here last Wednesday for a ladies night with Selena W., Nicole S., Cherylynn N., Jolene T., and Jerad L. [yes, booboo is one of the girls! haha] initially, i was impressed by the impeccably dressed waiters, red velvet upholstry, crystal chandeliers, thick drapery, and the warm wood trim. then i realized it looked a lot like Rouge [which is also owned by Harry Denton]. also, like Rouge, Starlight Room is SMALL. the dancefloor is miniscule...i have more room in my walk-in closet! LoLx the DJ was so-so, playing top 40`s and old school music. the view, however, was breathtaking :] at 21 floors up, you get an awesomee view of union square, macy`s, neiman`s, and the westin st. francis hotel :] the view was the best part of my experience here ;D the crowd. what can i possibly say about the crowd? let`s just say that most of them were old enough for me to call them mommy and daddy. i felt like a baby...or Lolita with Humbert Humbert staring at my tits. hahaha the average age [not counting me and my girls] was around 45. i`d just like to say at at 23 i was the youngest by 4+ years out of my group, and that a majority of my friends are over 3O, so i`m no amateur to hanging out with my favorite old farts LoLx this might be a great place to find yourself a sugardaddy, but seeing as i`m not currently in the market for one, i think i`ll pass.
by scott p. on I was going to four star this review but I'm with the anti-haters on this place. Sound was great here. I'm just going to say that the music they played in the bar after the show was very loud and kind of bad but MAN are there worse places to see a show in NYC/Brooklyn.
by Damian Lindbloom on Generally not my scene but had fun anyway!! Crowd's more "urban", self proclaimed hiphop heads, styled in flannels (what's hot right now) and stussy gear. So after a long cab ride around town, we all ended up here. We were suppose to go clubbing but instead we met up with some old friends. We were told there was no dress code and cover is $5. No dress code? YIKES - we were overly dressed but went anyway. Project One is this little hole in the way gallery/venue area. In the middle of nothing special, cover was $15 (since we weren't on the list) BUT it included 2 free drink passes. The place isn't that big but definitely utilized its space; there is a cute little art gallery to the right and a bar to the left. The bar mainly had soju/sake drinks and wine/champagne. The pink lemonade soju drink was sort of gross:( We managed to find the liquor and scored 2 free shots of grey goose with our passes:) There was so coat check (burn) but we asked the bartender to watch our things. He was awesome! He ended up getting on his makeshift bar and pouring champagne in people's mouths...guess who came back for seconds?! Music was all hiphop to the old beats (Michael Jackson) to the newer stuff (Kanye). The crowd was groovin' to the beats and although some seemed a bit too cool for school, most of the crowd was all smiles and having fun :)!
