by Isabel J. on The food is okay but their appetizers are much better. They have really good crab cakes which you can get on their own or to top a salad. Brunch wasn't bad either and at a good price. Your best deal will probably be Thursday nights from 11-1am where you pay $20 and you get an open bar.
by Lisa W. on I feel like a sell-out giving a place like Tonic four stars, especially since I'd really like to give it one. The problem is I have some great memories here with some really good friends. There is nothing extraordinary about this place. It's big, you go dancing, you drink. You play drinking games. You flirt with the bartender. I went here twice with an old crew I used to roll with. We came here and danced and drank and had fun. Simple as that. Sure I can hate on the current scene, but the truth is, I used to be part of it. This was a decent place to make some embarrassing memories.
by Noelia Sarkodie on JAZZ MAFIA TUESDAYS!!! It's been my home on Tuesdays for years now (yes - long before it was sold to Harry's and remodeled). You can't go wrong. The Shotgun Wedding Hip-Hop Symphony, Realistic Orchestra, Jazz Mafia Trio, Brass Mafia - there's a reason why it's been voted the BEST music residency 3 years in a row by SF Weekly! The food is good. A little above your standard bar food. Good burgers (Kobe). Sliders. Good cocktails. The atmosphere is cool. They lost the fish tank of the original Brunos (I do miss that) but added a fireplace in the front room. If you can make it past the odd paintings in the front of troll dolls and Barbie dolls, the music in the Cork Room (in back) is pretty cool. I've only been up to the "Pussycat Lounge" (upstairs) a couple times. I'd say it's alright. It's not open all the time. The times I have been I was drunk with friends and would have enjoyed myself anywhere. I do think naming something "Pussycat" anything is kinda lame. But whatever. Just go on Tuesdays - it's awesome...
