by susan s. on I love the decor of this place. I've been here for club nights (gay and straight nights) as well as for a private memorial ceremony. The door is a little strict, but this is New York! All the places in Chelsea that are "clubs" are like this. If you look good, and you have some hot people with you, you will have no problem getting in the door. Dress to impress! Sound system is decent. Plenty of dance floor space.
by Sue B. on If you like being man-handled by aggressive bouncers who have a fetish for wrapping their roid raging hands around your neck, GO FOR IT.........I'm a 110 lbs and was dancing on a speaker, was told to get down and I did. Apparently, I wasn't moving fast enough so the bouncer felt it was necessary to put his hands around my neck and pick me up off of my feet. I have never been treated like this in all my life! Under no circumstances would I ever step foot in this place and I'm telling everyone about the experience. You might want to have APD on your speed dial should you decide to visit the Opera.
by Trinidad Ploense on All these years I thought I was a bonafide fruit fly. When I lived in SD I lived in Hillcrest. I used to have my friends and neighbors over every week to watch Ab Fab when they came out with their last season. I can shop in the mens section with my male friends with just as much enthusiasm as if I were shopping for myself, I know if your bag is a knockoff and Project Runway, in my humble opinion, is the only reality TV worth watching. I love me a little bump and grind and mutual flattery in a man packed dance club and obviously the gays and I have a special alcoholic connection because we all know the gay bars have the best drink specials in town. I can double kiss you hello, shower you with feel good compliments and, yes, I like glitter as much as leather as much as a nice tight ass. I, however, must be some sort of hybrid fruit fly, because I do not like Mariah or Whitney or show tunes. This is the type of music that is predominant at this piano bar. It is fitting for sipping one of their very strong specialty martinis at a tall bar table tucked into a dark corner of this loungy dark cozy candlelit space, but just not the music for me. There is enough sprinkling of Elton and the likes to keep me there drinking, but not enough to make this a first choice for channeling my inner fag hag. Don't hate! Did I mention your hair looks FABULOUS!! Where DO you get it cut???
