I dislike this place! Sorry, but from the moment the cashier lady told me to walk down the block to an atm I said hell no. Got into a fight with her, think she said her name was "Crystal," but ended it with me telling her to stfu. Sorry, but no one tells baby to go walk to an ATM and try to say it's a classy club yet she rather take dirty money than a credit card/atm. If any of you watched Avatar, I felt like I was in such a place. Very bright and vibrant but smelled of stank gases/fumes. Place was horribly packed and no ventilation what so ever. Seemed like everywhere we chose to dance, was a walkway or something because people just kept bum-rushing us. Drink costs just as much as any club in SF. The music was great though, got great DJs doing their thang up in there. Overall the place was just too damn packed. I'd suggest this place if you want to get roughed up while dancing and don't really breathe much to take in the heat and smell all together.

Went to Yoshi's for an after SITC Premier Girl's Night and it topped off an already awesome and memorable evening. The Yoshi's in SF is gorgeous and could have been a worthy dining location scene in the SITC movie! Different paper lanterns illuminated the space at night w/ simple Japanese influenced touches and natural materials set the stage for our feast. We were a party of 11 and were seated in one of the special rooms... the one where you take your shoes off and sit in a squarish table w/ the sunken table seating. The tables center has a "Teapot" like sculpture that was inluminated from below as if a fire pit warming it. We were told by our server that the Chef had handmade the 8 or so, Red and White Paper "Lantern" mobile ala Calder... that warmed up the 20 ft tall ceiling space in the square room. It provided a beautiful red glow and made me and my fellow SITC Girl's Night companions look all the more radiant. BTW Yoshi's Management... It would top the experience to have some slippers (ala hotel type slippers) that say Yoshi's that you could take home with you. They also have 3 other special group rooms that were visible on the main dining floor... 2 Shoji Screened Rooms and 1 Glass boxed room adjacent to the kitchen. A separate and spacious bar/lounge area compliments the Jazz Club/Restaurant marriage. Okay, enough Architectural commentary (one of the many traps of being in the profession is that you tend to fixate on the design first and then the food..) THE FOOD: Since we had a large party, the server recommended a custom tasting menu that was a little pricey (about $100 per person w/sake, wine, cocktails) but very delicious, well sequenced and satiating. We also got the desserts, which were very unusual (chocolate hazlenut torte w/beet ice cream and Okinawan Doughnut spears w/ Whiskey Ice cream.! YUM!) A few of us also tried the Saki Flight (highly recommended!) that perfectly complimented the food. We also shared 2 bottles of Elizabeth Spencer Syrah Special Cuvee from Sonoma County that was super tasty w/ Big Toasty Oak and dark chocolate flavors that went well w/ the Katsu Tuna and the Niman Ranch Steak. Here's what I can remember from after the Sake and Wine... Appetizers: Edamame w/ Garlic Soy marinade (tasty variation to the classic) Calamari and Seaweed Salad Sashimi: Sashimi Sanban Rolls: California Spicy Dragon Banzai Spider Spicy Tuna Katsu Lobster Katsu Robata: Niman Ranch Strip Loin Gindara Black Cod Kamayaki: Seasonal Organic Vegetables Dessert: Chokoreto Keki Lemon Edamame Cake Okinawan Doughnuts The service was really attentive.

I came here for a big office shindig, and it was really nice.  The outdoor/indoor space is really pretty and the food was good, although it was really loud (but where isn't it loud?).  A great venue for a big group of people, although I don't know if I'd go here in a group of two or three.
