by Susan L. on Hey psssst! Earth to Susan! There's this great club just a few blocks from your house!! It's a refreshing feeling to discover a new gem after 4.5 years of living in the same neighborhood. You get all cocky and think you've hit every cool spot in a 10 block radius. But guess what? You're just a normal person that's got shit to do and can't visit every place you hear about it. People have been telling me about Mighty for what feels like a decade but I figured a club is only as good as the people you're with. But that's not true with Mighty (I was with good people, don't get me wrong!). The DJs were spinning some solid beats and when that happens, the true dancers come out to play. I don't care where I'm at or who I'm with - as long as there are some amazing dancers around me, I'm going to have a great time! Everything about the atmosphere and vibe of Mighty attracts the dancers and keeps the douchebags at home. Big open space, big speakers, big DJ stage. As a bonus, they have two big bars that never got crowded. This place allowed me, a girl, to shake my ass all night without guys lurking and throwing out their best pick-up line. And that, my friend, deserves five stars.

by Hayden Manship on I'm going to guess that it's not acceptable to just copy and paste someone else's review, even if you give them the credit for it. (hehe) But I really, really want to copy and paste Hana K.'s review of Saturday night at Vanguard right here. As a whole, the people pretty much suck, the vibe is shitty and there is NOWHERE TO DANCE. They seriously should consider not letting so many people in. It's not exactly a good time. Unless you're into gross, sweaty shirtless guys (it's totally gross. trust me.) or old ladies (the cougars) dressed like sluts and acting like lesbians (also totally NOT HOT.) or tripping over the e-puddles... For the love of GOD, don't just sit anywhere. Try to find a wall to sit against. Or maybe even a couch or SOMETHING. JUST STAY OUT OF MY WAY. GOD. Drinks are pricey... especially because if you're going to have any kind of decent time, you'd better be getting EFFED UP. I doubt I'll ever come back to Vanguard on a Saturday night. I honestly can't think of a single DJ who would entice me to come back. It was just THAT bad. By the way, that second star there is only because of that sound system. But if you really want to enjoy it, go there on Sunday night. DEEP is SO much better...
