Bottom line is that dance clubs should not be in the Mission. But if you dig that kinda scene, then this place is calling your name.
by David Z. on Man, I am just not having good luck with restaurants this week. I'd heard plenty of good things about Parish, but my experience did not match up. I went for brunch on a Sunday, and sat under their enormous umbrellas outside. They brought us out complimentary beignets to start, which was a nice surprise, but unfortunately they were chewy and tasted like they'd been sitting around a while. Definitely nothing like Cafe du Monde. I ordered the Community Egg Salad Sandwich with Pontalba Hash (chopped potatoes with bell peppers). The food took a while to come out (over 20 minutes), and when it finally did, my food was completely different from what I ordered. The egg salad came without the arugula and cucumber listed on the menu, and was served on pumpernickel rather than sourdough. It also was a measly portion of egg salad, and I only tasted the promised curry flavor in one bite. Oh, they also forgot to bring the hash browns. Our server did not appear again for a while, and when she did I told her about the problems. She brought a bowl of potatoes, but they didn't have any bell peppers mixed in. By this time I was thoroughly frustrated, and the waitress apologized and sent out the manager. He apologized and explained that they were out of many ingredients, then comped my meal. Everyone else enjoyed their orders (American breakfast, Shrimp and Grits, Pork and Grits), for what it's worth. Still, I won't be returning any time soon.
by Kristi Schlitz on made me wait in line - unacceptable pretentious bouncers - unacceptable not in a great loacation for the bouncers to be so pretentious $25 cover by the time i got to the door - so unacceptable that i left. i won't attempt to enter this place again.
