Bottom line: unless your belly is a bottomless pit, stick to the salatim and hummus, some mezzes and the dessert :)  The tasting menu will feed a small army. Excellent service, beautiful dining room, intense food experience. A fun place. Went here with boyfriend and his mom for dinner on a Friday night.  Tough to get a table but we must have called early in the week for our 8pm. Great service, nice dining room, nice bar, and a counter in front of a row of big windows overlooking the kitchen/food prep.  The place was buzzing with happy eaters. The server was very knowledgeable about the food and ingredients.  My water glass was never even half empty. Great wine selection, good drinks menu.  There are so many foods to choose from, which would be fun for a large group.  Loved the salatim.  Fun presentation, fresh and crisp ingredients, good intro to the flavors of the night.  We enjoyed haloumi (fried but not greasy), well-done fried cauliflower, very beautifully presented and tasty lamb tartare (this was great), lamb tongue (not a fave in general), silky eggplant with mushrooms and pine nuts (the galil, a little salty), and some confit chicken thigh that I couldn't even think of eating after such a humongous feast... But there was still room for warm brownie with sour cherry ice cream (meh), some baklava, and a turkish tea. The infamous leg of lamb is yet to be enjoyed by this rateclubser, but I would come back to try it.... once I've recovered from eating 15 pounds of food in two hours.  Why only 3 stars? One of us thought there was much too much zaatar in everything; one of us thought the flavors were too intense and that there wasn't enough balance between strong and subtle flavors.  For me, the food was a bit overwhelmingly rich and I would agree with other reviews that overall the dishes were just short of "wow". Warning: both times, I have over eaten listening to the recommendations of the servers!

One of the best burgers I've had.  These are In and Out style, handpacked patties -- not your dense pub burger.  If you like that kind of burger (the in and out style) you'll love this place.  I had the Classic with fries.  The burger was incredibly tasty.  The cheese perfectly melted.  The fries are good but not the best I've ever had but good enough to complement the burger.  The decor is great.  The ordering system perfect for the place.  A great addition to W. Philly and U. City.

Wonderful food and service. Saturday nights, are the best with the KJ/DJ karoake and DJ music all night long. It jams after 10:00

I love the goth-y look and feel of this bar, complete with gargoyles and crosses. I love the whole underground vibe, the exposed bricks, the use of the color red and their always-clean and supernice bathrooms. The only problem is that televisions playing sports and a stripper pole are glaringly style-opposed to the elements that I love so much. It feels like a bar that hasn't quite made it's mind up whether or not it's going to serve mainly the drunk frat crowd or go for a slightly older and more sophisticated clientele. The bar staff are astoundingly nice though, and the drinks are pretty decent, though they could stand to have a couple of decent draft beers. All in all, though - I mostly liked it and will go back. Hopefully, they will have replaced the sports with silent films on the televisions and the stripper pole will be gone entirely.
