I really like this place. The atmosphere inside has always been easy going cool. I've found the staff to be nice, friendly, though maybe not overly service oriented. But that's nice. I've never been ignored and nor have I ever felt pressured or bothered. I love that they support our local brewers, that's a nice touch. The food has always been good and fairly interesting. And now with the upstairs music venue, there's even more to like, if not love. My only complaint with Johnny's is that it has become too popular and therefore too crowded. But, poof, they've expanded, so that shouldn't be a problem anymore. Can't wait to stop in and find out.

I went to Vessel to catch Lil Louie Vega, a living legend in the world of House Music. It was pricey, 25$ or a ticket but Its worth it for Vega. Its surprising that a nice looking club is fond by turning into an alleyway. Azul is in the same alley btw. The club looks great, and has a nice layout. The crowd was cool too, since its house there are less douchebags and and overall chill vibe. Another result was that he dress code was relaxed. I dressed up a bit just to make sure, but my homeboy was in his regular street clothes that he got at the thrift store and it was all good. I liked the sound system too, the levels arent set as harsh as The Endup for example. The highs dint make my ears bleed. I didnt buy any drinks because I already know, nice trendy club in SF, you will be paying at least 4 bucks for water in a perfume bottle. There was one grumpy employee there, bussing empty glass and pushing and shoving through the dance circle. I wouldnt go here on a regular night, i'm sure it will be douchebag central, but its a great venue to catch a big name performance because its a smaller more intimate atmosphere.

Came here last night for the Red Stripe Reggae Party....and ended up drinking free red stripes and hanging out with Steel Pulse. Hawt. The venue is neat, clearly was not the typical thing going on...but I think I will be back some time soon to check out these famous mojitos! And the Brazilian music, woohoo!
