I have to generally give this place a thumbs up. The SO & I finally stopped in and were very pleased. The atmosphere was nice, waiter was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about gluten-free options, and the food was tasty. I got the Chicken Saltimocca, subbing in grilled chicken (no breading) and asparagus instead of angel hair. They do have gluten-free pasta, but I generally avoid grains entirely, so nothing pasta-dependant for me. The dish was tasty, but I'd probably opt for something different next time. My husband got the Lobster Carbonara. I snagged a few bites of meat & sauce and found it to be delicious; he certainly seemed to enjoy it. :) Only 4 stars because I think their menu is a mite limited and their beef/veal dishes are WAY overpriced.

I came here for a friend's birthday 2 weekends ago... after sorting out some Rateclub account problems I am officially here to write my first review. Actually, this place is WHY I felt compelled to sign up for Rateclub. I was pretty perceptive as I was the designated driver and let me tell you I will not be back to this place. 1) On one side of the dancefloor there was a greasy-looking employee who was standing up on this bench thing against the wall and kept making hand gestures and screaming "MOVE!!!!! MOVE!!!!" if anyone was directly in front of him... ON THE DANCEFLOOR. What the hell do you expect? That there's going to be a nice open place when that's a space for people to grind and get down? I don't think so. After he got down from the bench I realized he was quite short so maybe standing on the bench and looking out above everyone gave him a sense of empowerment. 2) My friend's jacket got stolen which I know is not a reflection of the bar but it just sucks that people do crap like this. 3) At the end of the night another friend I was driving walked out of the bar without her jacket. At that point all the lights were on and they weren't letting anyone in so I understand that the bouncer told her she had to wait. However, after almost 10 minutes there was almost no one inside, no one trying to get back in, and the bouncer (who at this point had told my friend to "be patient" at least 5 times) walks away from the door to flirt with some girl. I was tired and wanted to get the hell out of there and waiting for this guy to put on the charm for this girl (which I assure you he was not going to bed) was not what I wanted to deal with. It was a decent night but the employees at this place are not well trained. I understand that working at a place where people are going to be drunk means that you can't be too nice and must be firm if people get out of hand, but getting screamed at by the midget on the dancefloor 2 minutes after I walked in and was saying happy birthday to my friend set the tone for the whole evening.

Before you all jump on me (I see those negative reviews!), I would like to make the disclaimer that I am reviewing the private room (Suite? is that what it's called?) that is attached to the Estate. So a large group of us (200+) showed up for a private party. The place looked a bit run down (which given the super dark room only serves to indicate how run down it must really be), but it did hold a good number of our fabulous selves and the bathrooms were serviceable. Drinks were $10 as others have noted and coat check was $3. Having lived in NYC prior to moving here, I was a bit miffed at the NYC prices but non-NYC digs. However, I did not pay cover, so I should shut up. We were supposed to have gotten in at 930, but it was more like 950/10 before we got in to the room. I did not appreciate being kept waiting in the sub-arctic temperatures, especially since I assume someone shelled out good money to hold the event. Music was alright but definitely loud. I lost my voice 45 minutes in. Still...the night was good thanks to the company. If you get a good deal (and I don't know the economics that went into this shindig), could be worth having your party here. Just don't hold your breath on getting in on time...especially when it's freezing out.
