If you are a serious fondue-er, then you will know about Dante's Down The Hatch. It is an Atlanta INSTITUTION! The menu is simple, food is wonderful, atmosphere is romantic, service is extraordinary, and jazz is unparalleled. Right off of Peachtree, across from Lenox Square...you'll find this great place behind a historic house. The owner, Dante, is a real character with stories that will amaze you. He is well traveled and a friendly host. If you are lucky enough to get Bettina as your server, you are in for a treat. She is the best server that I have ever had at ANY restaurant that I have ever been to. As soon as you meet her, she becomes your friend and takes care of your every need. Not to mention, she has a wicked sense of humor. I have been to many other fondue restaurants (Melting Pot, La Fondue, etc...) and none can compare to Dante's. While they only have 4 dipping sauces (House Roumelade, Teriyaki, Horseradish, Sweet & Sour) each one is better than the other. I can't say that about Melting Pot or La Fondue. They may have more sauces, but the quality and flavor just does not match the food like the ones at Dante's. Tip: Double, triple, or quadruple dip in the sauces...its amazing! And I have had the chocolate fondue and the reason they make you order it in advance is because they take an entire day to prepare the chocolate. Not to mention, you get a mountain of fruit to dip in the endless chocolate. Their chocolate fondue is not a casual after dinner dessert, you go ESPECIALLY for this amazing experience! Amateurs go to other places, professionals go to Dante's!

Ah old starting palce when Kev the mac daddy ran the ship. We used to start there almost every weekend. Food, crowd, music pretty good especially in the back room. Fun when crowded but catch it when they are near empty on a tuesday night and they are playing some Sinatra with candles light everywhere... Pretty cool.

It's been a while since I've been to Delux, but I do keep meaning to go back. Their burgers are a nice change of pace from the typical fast food variety. Order up a "basket" (served in a miniature shopping cart) of sweet potato french fries and you have a not-so-ordinary dining experience. Beer. Beer, beer and more beer. So much beer that the sheer volume of it outnumbers the rest of the items on the menu. From Microwbrews to Michelob, you're sure to find something cold and refreshing. The sweet raspberry lambic is a nice way to top off your meal. The interior is a bit small and it's often crowded and very noisy. Carrying on a conversation inside when it's busy is next to impossible without having to shout. If you can get a seat outside, I would go for it. Keep in mind that Delux is located in a strip mall so you'll be constantly barraged with cars driving by.
