I had another great meal in Atlanta at Top Flr. We sat upstairs and got there a little before the "crowd" so it wasn't loud at all while we were there. We had good service and asked our server for recommendations and he seemed very knowledgeable. We had the oysters appetizer and I have the duck confit with parpadelle pasta which was fantastic. My friend had the hangar steak which she also enjoyed. The mac and cheese was VERY tasty as was the beets w/chevre and arugala and the asparagus side. All in all a good meal with great ambience.

Went here with a big group the other day after hearing all kinds of good things about their happy hour. I've had happier hours elsewhere. The "specialty martinis" were on special for $5 during happy hour, so I tried two, the Mojito Martini and something else the waitress recommended that was bright blue. Neither were that great. The mojito martini wasn't that cold, first of all, and second of all, they didn't strain it after muddling the mint--one of my biggest pet peeves--because it leaves itsy bitsy pieces of mint floating in your drink which inevitably will get stuck in your teeth at precisely the most embarassing moment. The second one tasted like someone had just melted a blue otter pop in my drink. I had to squeeze 4 lemons into it just to make it so it wasn't too sickly sweet to drink. The food wasn't really outstanding either, though it wasn't bad. I ordered the plaintain chips, and the portion was HUGE. They were tasty, but the accompanying dipping sauces--some fruit salsa and "chipotle ranch" were both pretty bland and dissapointing. I also got to try a few things other people in my group ordered: spinach artichoke dip (bland, boring); guacamole (fine); jalapeno poppers (tasted like they came from TGIFridays); and Chicken Satay (this was actually good). The one redeeming quality about this place? The service. Our waitress was great, checking up on us frequently, bringing food and drinks as fast as they came out, prompt with getting us checks, and not even complaining that we all wanted separate tabs. She also had great legs. So will this be my new happy hour locale? Nah. But for a one time thing, it was ok. Just don't order any blue martinis.

Wow there are some seriously bad reviews on this place. Is the place sketch? Yea it is. But did I have fun? There were some good and bad memories. My friends and I generally went here when we were running late and didn't want to wait in line forever to get in somewhere. I haven't been to Saint in a while, but I've never had to wait more than 10 or 15 minutes to get in. As for the bouncers, I've definitely encountered some bouncers with ego issues elsewhere but have never had any issues with the ones at Saint. Actually, there were a couple of relatively young bouncers that are fairly cute (hmm are they no longer there?) Also, I don't recall ever having to pay $20 for cover. On some nights I didn't have to pay at all and on a couple of other ocassions I paid either $5 or $10. The drinks are watered down and I have seen some pretty poorly dressed guys, but Saint isn't so terrible that I would never go back. Expect some sketchiness, to overpay for your watery drinks (what else is new in Boston?), but don't bitch the bouncers out - they're fairly human. While not exactly impressive, Saint can be called mediocre. *Update* The drinks are not watered down; I went for my girly cocktails as usual and was nearly knocked over. As for my friends who had real drinks... eek I am too much of a lightweight to steal sips from them
