by Len L. on Quite expensive, but fabulous food. Trendy decor just like all of Stephen Starr's restaurants plus the extra cache of having the celebrity chef Morimoto at the helm. It's a great 'event' restaurant. Great place to go for a milestone event like your 50th birthday.
by Scott M. on I really had a hard time understanding the urban legend that it costs 90 bucks an hour to bowl here (i think its $90, but it may be $75). Then we went to check it out, and realized it was pretty damn impressive. I have to say Ten Pin Alley is the nicest bowling alley that i have ever been to in my life. Clearly they went above and beyond to justify charging a grip to bowl in this piece. A few cool things: a) Ten Pin has a private "bowling area" where basically you can reserve an area for a small group and have your own 2 - 3 lane private area. I know i am not doing it justice, but you just gotta check it out yourself, its pretty dope. b) The seating is plush...not those hard plastic/metal chairs that you are used to sitting in while bowling...its actually comfortable to be here. c) Dont get too scared by the price. If its $90 bucks that means for 6 folks $15 bucks per hour...ideally Id like to think if you focused you can definitely get in 2 games in an hr..if not, then you guys just spent $30 bucks...but still a good experience all things considered. Things not good: a) The food sucks. I really expected more, but then this would be too much unlike a bowling alley...i have never had good food at any of these places...so who was i kidding. Had the nachos....looked like barf....yep, I said it...barf. Cools spot, to at least check out once while you are in the city.
by Rodrick Luis on Went on a friday night and the place was PACKED. Come dressed ready to jump into a steam room. Diverse crowd. There was a line that wasn't too long. Maybe 7 heads in front of us. Bouncers, DJ, bartenders....all super cool. DJ was spinning hip hop and everything else from Michael Jackson to nirvana. Try to find street parking, not just because it's cheap. Valet service takes forever. Aside from that, the valet misplaced our party's keys for 45 minutes. Oops Cover is $7. Valet is $7. No coat check. Bacon dog cart just outside, which was just plain irresistible during our wait for the valet. Would love to find more hangouts like this in LA.
