by Jimmie Osequera on I've been to this establishment twice. First was for a live performance a year ago, and the second was a friend's birthday party. I like how there is no cover, there is ample street parking, and how it looks like a "cool chill dive bar" However, when I went on a Saturday Night. It did not have that cool chill dive bar feel. I agree with other rateclubs reviewers when they said, "this place does not know what it is yet" So the hard wood floors, high ceilings, pictures of elvis, ghandi, bob marley, on the walls not too bad. But when you mix it with furry boot wearing go go dancers, and a DJ who will mix Journey with that "shot shot shot shot shot shot" song that plays on the radio, somehow it just does not work out. To top it off, the place had an odd smell of dirty old rags that night for some reason. It kind of made sense to me when I went to order a drink at the bar, there was something spill on the chair, and I asked the bartender nicely if I could have a napkin, then he found a rag on the counter and gave it to me. Gross.
by Darryl Cahalane on $30/hr for the smaller room $60/hr for the big room (VIP style) was here for bday celebration the place is clean, not smokey, service is quick - you press the button and BAM they there in your room. i dont like how the remote it is just filled w/ korean words..i wish they have english writing - that would be helpful...that way we know which button to skip and which button to change tempo/etc. fun place, plenty of songs to sing to.

by Christi S. on Being from out of town, my friends had heard great reviews from this place. I went last Sat night, I was expecting the crowd to be a bit friendlier and not as snobby than the "asian" crowd up here in nor-cal. I was wrong.. the crowd was definately much more snobbier! I only went to the nightlife, but I saw the resturant prices and they were expensive!! http://www.minx-la.com/ here's the website to check it out yourself. Price: $20 if you're not on the guestlist. Sign up on their website http://www.minx-la.com/ Design: Considering that this is a resturant in the day, it doesn't quite fit the nightclub scene too well in the evening. They could have cleared a large area of tables to make for a larger dance floor. The dance floor they originally had was a bit smaller than I'd expected. Go-go dancers: They couldn't dance too well. I'd have to say the ones at the Highlands the night before had waay more body movements to actually make you want to dance. These dancers seemed bored and didn't know how to shake it. Crowd: Omg. I'd have to say it is definately an Asian crowd. The guys there seem a bit too "pretty" for me; with their plucked/waxed eyebrows. I was surprised to see that they let guys in with tennis shoes and caps. Nor-cal is waay more strict with their dress-codes. I definately have to say the guys look as though they take more care of themselves than the ladies. As far as the ladies go, they were dressed with lots of short skirts, although their attitude came across as a bit snobby and stuck up. Basically if you don't know anyone in their "click" and want to dance with them, good luck! Everyone was rude and elbowed each other on the floor. Parking: The valet takes forever b/c there's In-n-Out's. We just made a left and parked in the neighborhood. Would I go back? : I'd prob give them a second chance, but if it's the same as this first experience, then I definately wouldn't go back!
