We had drinks here before a show Sunday night. I really like it in here. I like how you can smell that fryer as soon as you hit the door. I like the general attitude, beer selection, electrical problems in the rest rooms, beer selection (except Boddingtons sometimes attracts the Brits). Friggin excellent deck. Never seen the bot but can't wait. Not much of an Irish pub- but I would love it if this place were in my neighborhood.

XIV One of my favorite hangouts in LA. The venue seems to change every time I come home from NY: from Shelter, Privilege to now XIV, despite the name change/facelift this spot is centrally located and a mecca for Hollywood royalty. Michael Mina's vision has changed this venue to an upscale Cheers where everybody knows your name whether you're on tv/movies/on a billboard on Sunset Blvd or just a regular Angeleno. Happy Hour is recession proof friendly with drinks starting at $6. I'm not sure if I walked onto a film set or a bar. Either way I feel like an A-lister.

I'll admit it: liking this club makes me one of those L.A. FOBs that actually likes House music or maybe even Kim Kardashian at best, but what can I say? All the times I've gone here I've genuinely had a lot of fun. Through some luck of the draw, the first time I came here Perry Farrell was spinning (and actually doing a great job no less) which needless to say was totally awesome. The next time it was Bob Sinclair, which in terms of House music is a really big deal. That was also a really fun evening. The third time, it was Mark Farina. I think you're starting to get the point. I can't say I liked how packed it got that night, but it was fun all the same. Despite all the tempting green trance lights and sweaty bodies to invade my private space, I decided to escape the madness and go outside for a cigarette. The patio area was perfect for the warm LA nights, complete with plenty of booths and it's own separate bar. You could pretty much hang out here the whole night and still have a great time (I did). All in all it's a solid LA club. Certainly not for everyone, but if you are into that scene than definitely check this place out.
