by Klysha R. on This place is not your traditional steakhouse, but I loved it! The steaks were well seasoned and the portions were perfect. The decor was sexy and the location was perfect to hop around to other spots.
by Russ P. on As a long time Delux customer (I even have the 10% off VIP silver card) I'm sure to eat here almost a few times a month. You can't be the classic Delux Burger (medium) and a basket of mix fries. I do want to say that over the past few months however the service has seem to have lost the personal touch and attention to detail I remember. Smiles and warm greetings have been replaced with sometime forgotten orders and rather robotic sever personalities. Normally that would get a 3-star rating in my book, but there's a special place in my heart for Delux, so they still squeak by with 4.
by Athena Lassiter on GAMH is my favorite venue for live shows. The architecture is beautiful on the inside, which makes for a nice and welcome change after walking through the Tenderloin to get to the place. The venue is small enough to accommodate a large crowd yet see the stage from wherever you may be on the floor - though if you're a shortie, like me, you better hope you can peek between two sets of shoulders. They have chairs and small tables against the side walls and a bar to the back, more seating and another bar on the second floor. If I can't get right up against the stage on the floor, or I'm with friends who don't want to stand, the second-floor seats are a good compromise. You still get to see everything, the band is just... not going to drip sweat on you. (If you like that sort of thing.) The wait staff is nice and the food isn't too bad. Just make absolutely sure you get a stamp if there's a remote possibility you might drink - they're very good about enforcing that! I had a friend not get a stamp because she wasn't planning to drink, take a sip of my Heineken, and then almost got thrown out. They let her stay after she showed her ID and got her hand stamped but they made sure to escort her to the stamping guy in case her license was fake.
