by Sue P. on Oh Rumor, Rumor. Rumor tries to be a super posh NYC kind of a club, but it fails.... Fails miserably. The best crowd and the best looking people show up on Saturdays, followed by Thursday. Definitely a more ritzy, international kind of vibe on Saturdays. They play house music that night. If you go on a Friday or Sunday (especially Sunday with rap music) it's's kinda ghetto. And if you show up late on a good night forget about even getting in. Just get there early. I've even seen people with tables having a hard time getting in. The cover is $25, but if you are on a guest list you can get in for $15. I actually really like the music at Rumor but it irks me that it is completely filled with tables for bottle service. There is a Latin room too, but it's a pain to get into unless you have a wrist band. If not you are condemned to tiny dance areas AROUND all of the other tables and the bar for the rest of the night. Not cool. I don't know about anyone else, but I go to a club to DANCE. I definitely prefer their sister club Venu next door.... definitely more room to move around!
by Steve C. on I've been here twice so far and was blown away by the acoustics. About as good as you can ask for, really. Not a bad seat in the house. They tend to book "older" entertainment acts, but if you can find one you like, this is a fantastic room. They do the cover charge + 2 drink minimum thing which I think has seen its better day, but I had a great time nonetheless.
by Roselia Mancher on Have recently stumbled upon this dive in my hood, and I have to say- it ain't bad. Decently strong drinks, a whole truckload of space in the back where you can play some pool without having to listen to some marina trash talk on their phones, have some asshole eyeing your tits, or basically deal with the rest of the daily bullshit in this city :) It's chill and unpretentious. And the owners seem cool to boot.
