HORRIBLE!!!!!!! HORRIBLE PROMOTOR!!!!!!! my friends and I went to playhouse to celebrate a friend's bday. So we get there at 1030pm, and were on the guest list. I understand that the promotor was making us wait in the line to make the club "look busy", but waiting more than one effing hour in line----- RIDICULOUS!!! The promotor said, " The event is overbooked," my ass. It was a total BS last night!!! HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!!! I drove all the way from oc to hollywood. Total BS!!!!!!

The owners are extremely friendly and they serve ICE cold Ethiopian beer. Add in a pool table and groovy crowd and your at 4 stars. Now factor in some of the blandest (and recently price-hiked) Ethiopian food on Earth and your back to 1 star. Still, I love the owners and never had the heart to tell them personally, so here it goes on Rateclub: Honey, add some spice to that food--make it real. We love you otherwise!

I came here for a private party and was hoping it wouldn't be super "Hollywood," with girls dress to the nines in Aldo shoes and Bebe dresses. I was very wrong. The entrance was in the back parking lot, which didn't allow for drop offs or cabs. Lame. When you walk up EVERYONE stares at you to see if you are famous. Pretty obnoxious. One we finally got in we were escorted to the roof top lounge. Yet again, everyone looks you up and down. So LA, So LA. But there was a GORGEOUS view of the city. Comfortable couches, gorgeous servers (of course...), and no vegetarian options for food. Bummer. Oh well, I'll be on my model diet. Anywho, the bartenders weren't pretentious and even when there were a million people at the bar it wasn't difficult to get a drink. It is a nice place to lounge, but I'm assuming on any other night you'd want table service. I'd go back as long as I don't have to wait in the ridiculous Hollywood lines. You know, the ones with 1000 people outside, and 3 people inside. And I sure as hell will still not be waiting in line at midnight, like I saw people doing. The places close at 2! What are you doing?!
