He was in the open kitchen at the Pass but on his BB and didn't seem to be doing much but finishing the food. The restaurant was warm and all the wait staff was nice but it wasn't enough. It all seemed to be trying to hard. How do you make me not want to order fresh donuts? Put a random grapefruit confit underneath them.
by Ernesto N. on Before I met my Definitely-Meant-To-Be (DMTB), my buddy Rich and I spent 2-3 times a night prowling the night scene. Now that she's around I've been happily spending my time with DMTB and going on foodie adventures. However, one gem from the time before was the Edison. Before Rich and I had walked into the Edison, we had been to 20 different bars within the last few weeks, and we weren't happy with any of them. As soon as we walked in, we knew we found the right place. The stair case down opened up into a beautiful art deco experience, with period lighting, period-dressed servers and bar tenders, and a great vibe. The place is a little pricey, but well worth the experience. The wait staff is especially friendly- Amie is the best waitress you will ever have the chance to meet. A couple of notes to be mindful of if you plan on going: 1. Gentlemen: Wear leather shoes. They have a strict dress code, and they're especially strict on the weekends. 2. Show up before 10:30 if you plan on getting there before the line. 3. If you are going to be part of a party of more than 3, especially on the weekend, reserve a table. 4. If you get a seat, there is a minimum charge per person. This includes reservations. 5. Do not get so wasted that you can't make it up the stairs. you will fall and you may die.
by Zofia Gesell on Guys at the door are difficult and made us wait 20 minutes even though we were 'on the list' and just opened the rope for any blonde Barbie walking by. I know this world is unfair and can swallow shit like that but it was obvious the guy was being a dick because there was absolutely no line. A group of frustrated non-blonde dudes and my non-blonde friend were pretty patient for as much as any well-mannered, grown ass person with some self-respect could handle. The group of guys ended up leaving and luckily my friend (what did we do before texting) who was hosting the party inside made a call to 'someone' who had the blonde bouncer/doorman open the rightous velvet rope and let us in. Yuck! Music was pretty good, R&B, Soul. (That's how they earned one star.) Bartenders were attentive. (second star) Ambiance was opera meets shabby chic (..third.) Seating for table service only. Valet is $20.
