If you really like sushi, do yourself a favor and do not come here. My boyfriend and I went here for lunch today and we were sorely disappointed. I feel as if you can really judge a sushi restaurant by it's gyoza (or appetizers, for that matter).. and so when the gyoza came out greasy and flavorless I started to worry. My boyfriend order this sushi lunch special and I ordered a specialty roll (the green dragon, their most popular roll). The Green Drag Roll was mushy. Even the eel sauce tasted funky. My boyfriend's nigiri was so fishy smelling that we couldn't even eat it. It also came with a spicy tuna roll, which was the most bland spicy tuna I had ever tasted. Normally I don't rail on restaurants this bad, but I don't want other people to be fooled by the positive rateclubs reviews and think it's good. Save your money (ours cost $40 for two people) and go to piranha or even sushi niichi (off 24th). Barchi does get two stars because the service was really good. Our waiter was SO nice and even brought us a chocolate covered strawberry at the end of our meal.

basically i went to this place because my brothers band was playing a show. this very nice girl gave us the gig and said we may "fit in" with the other band that was playing that night. the other band "something hit" was pretty shoddy and whiney. but i appreciate the effort. kinda sounded like atom and his package. our band plays loud fast insulting punk rock. interesting match up for bands if you ask me. it was 10 dollars to get in, and there was no "big security guy" that i keep reading about. it was the girl that gave us the show, she was real nice. the drinks were well priced and i enjoyed my long island iced tea. the sound was good, our amp was blown with was our fault. i didn't try the bathrooms. and we could go outside to smoke cigarettes. my only complaint so far was that it was rather empty inside and we didn't really have an audience. the nice lady invited us for another show, and requested that we find bands to play with so we have a crowd. the shows in july, i will finish my proper review then.

The Icon is a pretty small place in comparison to other clubs but overall it accomplishes its intended goal. An open bar from 10-11, good bartenders, and eye appealing atmosphere, it really tries to get things going. I pretty much loaded up on vodka and beer while i could haha. The inside has 2 dance floors. One where you can really have a good time and the other feels like a crowded cockfest with a small bar of people who want to hide. The crowd isnt too bad either and it gets crazy around 1 am. The cons are the long lines, the security that uses metal detectors to make getting in even slower than normal, and a neighborhood that you dont feel safe parking around. Once you are in its all up to you to figure out what you want to do. Overall It was fun.
