by Zara Z. on Perfect way to spend a beautiful day outside! Get there early if you like sitting down, but don't be discouraged by the long line on the pier--it moves quickly. The crowd is young, loud, and a lot of fun, the Coronas are cold, and the fries are delicious.
by Casey Schonaerts on I went to this bar with two friends last night. I'd been there before a long time ago and have always been meaning to go back. I was very satisfied. The inside was extremely nice considering how inexpensive the drinks were. The martini's were available for as little as $5, and I'm used to spending about that much at dive bars in San Francisco. There are waiters that come around and serve you your drinks, collecting your empty glasses and offering more. It's very easy to drink a lot without even having to go back and forth to the bar. And of course, there is live music. The night we were there a woman was playing West Side Story tunes on the piano. She wasn't bad at all. I'm not sure that the bar is officially a "gay" bar. The bartenders seemed to be gay and there were plenty of gay people in there, but there were also several straight people--much more than you'd expect to see at the "gay" bar. This might be explained by how wonderful the place is--inexpensive drinks, fine service and live music in a pleasant setting can't be beat, so it's no wonder that it attracts a lot of different people. I'm not sure this is a place I'd go to meet new people though. The crowd was full of the wrong type of people, but if you're into those types or if you are not going to meet people this place is pretty good.
