by N G. on Wow - maybe it's because I've been out of the club scene a while, but this has got to be the most pretentious bunch of employees I've ever encountered at a joint like this. Add in the enormity of the ripoff that's going on at the bar, coat check, etc, etc...how does this place stay open? Must be the wide-eyed doofuses like me who get caught up in the glamor of it. I call shenanigans! So shame on me, hmm??! First and last visit to the place.

This spot is fairly similar to the equally wonderful Franklin Mortgage, but a little less slick and a little more Starr-campy. The drinks menu was fabulous and featured interesting drinks with natural and unusual ingredients based on the usual suspects (gin/vodk/rye/etc). Individual tables and small booths made me want to come back here on a date!
by Sharleen Grizzle on So after much hype from my friend Erin, we headed over to Apple Fri night....parking is TERRIBLE, so just valet your car. We walked right up, no line and headed in..... I'd like to say this is because we were dressed to impress and no one would say no to us......but hey, regardless, we walked right in, no cover. The outside patio is cool, except smoking is allowed and they owner didn't think to vent the place....so add enough people smoking, and well....not pleasant. The downstairs club area is a little cavernous, but fun if you just stood under a vent. $24 for two small grey hounds.....mmm...pricey for LA....come on! DJ had some weird taste, and really should have gone with top 40 for the crowd that was there. ***Note*** Upstairs is not open for dancing on fridays!!!! Dinner tables with white linen take over the upstairs.....bad move guys.... Went back to Apple on tuesday after Lucky Strike....wow!!! Total change! Huge line outside,had to wait 30 min (again, two hot girls......this is not ok)....Finally, got in and happily find the upstairs open tonight. Dance floor upstairs is much nicer, although still hot. The DJ had his name on a Lite Brite.....you know, the black paper over that light thing you stick the little light bulbs in?.....yea....he was cool. Overall, bouncers were nice enough, bar tenders didn't pour stiff drinks, and the dj's needed some help.....but I think this place has potential....I'll be back
