by Jennette Luke on I have mixed reviews of this hotel...so here is why I gave it three stars (1) Tao (i hope i spelled his name right) was super cool when we called him on Thanksgiving evening asking to bump up our reservation one night earlier so that we could check in on Thursday instead of Friday. He also was super cool and upgraded us to a cabana room instead of staying in the main hotel - 5 stars (2) Cabana Rooms - ok it is a sweet area and super LA and trendy. Loved our balcony that looked at Tropicana. Liked the modern decor. But sheesh, it was sooo dark. We had a hair and makeup artist come and it was hard to get good lighting to make sure our makeup looked good. Also, you could hear the next rooms and especially the water running. Not that it mattered, but it was loud. 3.0 stars for the room. 5.0 stars for the view of the pool (3) The Pool and Tropicana Bar - LOVED IT LOVED IT. I sat out and just chilled this weekend and soaked up the sun and looked at the palm trees. 5 stars (4) The greeters - super super friendly. Opening our doors for us, welcoming us back, etc. 5 stars (5) The Front Desk person at 4am early Sunday morning. SOOOO not cool. Dude, we booked 13+ rooms, had tons of cars valeted. Drank tons of drinks, ate tons of food at the hotel and to give attitude to us like that at 4am when we are trying to get another room? Haven't you learned that you should just listen to us complain with a smile? I can't believe you even acted like that. ZERO stars for you! (6) The hot black greeter at the pool (security check point) 10 stars (7) The "security" guy that came to our room to make sure we weren't having a party (with four whole people) - ZERO stars - that was so lame by the way. (8) The room service food was terrible. The pizza was soggy and my soup was too salty and the bolognese pasta was bland - 2 stars (9) The food by the pool - fish tacos, including the truffle fries - 5 stars.
by nadines d. on there are some really good music nights here and what's more, people actually dance; it's both a bar and a nice dance club at the same time! While it is pretty sketchy immediately outside the club, the inside is fluffy and cozy. It's surprising how good the pizza is too. You can really run into the coolest people around and have a good meal while shaking your thing!
by Quani C. on Where else can you get an amazing burger, tasty fries, and a drink for a mere $5.50? I really enjoy this place, mostly because of the incredibly laid back atmosphere. I've never even been here drunk, although I should probably try it sometime. The onion rings are incredible and everything is very inexpensive...without sacrificing quality.
