by Mari L. on Happy Anniversary to us!! Well I might as well recognize it even if the restaurant didn't. Also, despite service being of typical standard it wasn't really personable or great. So that's pretty much my reasoning for the star deduction. But... on to the food. We had the 7 course winter tasting menu, only we substitute the Heirloom beets for their Caesar salad. My fav dish would be the Oak grilled Wagyu strip, followed by the Jidori chicken then the Bigeye Tuna. Everything was good, except I could do w/o the dessert which was substandard except for the pear sorbet. Overall good food, portion is slightly smaller than American Fish but you'll leave satisfied. Upon arrival, it took us a quick second to find the main entrance hidden right in front of us. Then another secret hidden door for the staff by the hostess area. Awesome decor with the books, and various vintagey chairs and tables. Valet was great, we didn't have any problem like others mentioned.
by Milo B. on So my GF and I live super close and thought we should give it a try. We went in with no preconcieved notions and were super excited about it being Friday Happy Hour. It wasn't super crowed and we got a cute table in the corner in the front, and we were super happy. BUT then, it all went downhill. NOT fast but super slowly. So we went up to the bar to order some beers on tap ( suppossed to be $3 but we got charged $5 for each bar anyway). The bartender completely ignored us for about 3-5 minutes and she wasn't busy. She was pretty rude, and I was honestly kind of scared of her. She just seemed kinda mean. So we ordered the beet salad, and a pepperoni/mushroom pizza. I was really glad that I actually enjoy my GF's company cause we waited for about 1 hours and 5 minutes for the salad. I wish I were exaggerating but I am definitely not. Then we got the pizza less than 5 minutes after that. Meanwhile, the bartender totally never looked over and ignored us completely. We even asked about 40 mins in, and she was just like" well i put the order in". thats it. thats actually ALL she said. The pizza was ok. kinda tasted like a frozen pizza but a good frozen pizza, and the beat salad was nice. but definitely not worth the wait...few things are though. (1 HR..sheesh). and she overcharged so we didnt even get to enjoy the whole "happy hour" thing. oh well. We definitely would check it out again and give it another shot, but wont go in, if that bartender is there...such a bummer. And If we go back , I sure hope I change my review stars to something more than 1. oh and the music was good.
by Melvin Varlas on It has been a long time since I had visited an aquarium (5-6 years maybe) and this by far is one of the better ones. It is very clean and absolutely incredible for children. There are so many activities including the touch pools for various animals. The aquarium is very diverse and attracts all walks of life. Watching the Belugas was the best treat of all. The sea urchins and anenomes are very beautiful too. If I ever have a family, I would definitely bring them here for a 5-star learning experience. Oh, and the bathrooms are very well-kept considering the crowds of people that this place attracts.
