by Tom W. on We were recently in Philly for Hair O' the Dog and spent a few days enjoying the city. Zahav was one of the highlights of our trip. It just happened to be Restaurant Week so we were treated to a tasting menu. From the start off salads and small plate apps, everything was wonderful. My wife, two friends, and myself each ordered something different so we could try several things. The sweetbreads, braised cheek, and ground lamb were all excellent. Our server and staff were courteous, knowledgeable, and attentive. Classy place with all of their "ducks in a row". Very nice.
by Norris Mathurin on My roommie and I started out here for our Halloween activities. I hadn't made it to this place, but it seemed like a cool place. I also enjoyed the extra attention from people that really liked my Ghostbuster's costume, as I had people complimenting me on it. The drinks seemed to be in line with normal prices ($6-10), and I really liked the music that was played here (MGMT, Bloc Party). My only regret-getting pulled away from here to go eat and never returning. The other bars never quite matched up to what this place had going on for it.

It was a good experience, but judging how they sounded and what other people have said about hearing bands here, it seems like they just have really bad acoustics. My experience was slightly hampered by a drunk girl who felt the charitable need to blow on my neck when I started fanning myself (it gets HOT in there). Also, when girl and her large male friend started jumping up and down, I could feel the floor move a little bit, so I spent the entire show worrying that everyone might go crashing through the floor.
