Awesome place to grab some drinks. Burgers aren't bad either. Beautiful sunsets over new jersey in the evening. Usually a fairly relaxed and laid back crowd. Only reasons I'm not giving it 5 stars are they run out of certain drinks occasionally, and are apt to blast loud techno and house music from the stage. Doesn't really go too well with the laid back/sunset vibe.

Rouge = Red Indeed the place was very red.. i am glad they matched their decor with the name of their club! Cozy place indeed with a small dance floor in the back.. music is alright.. not the best DJ. The only thing that stood out for me the night i went here were my two friends being the GOGO dancers dancing on the bartops with their short skirts and spandex shorts under a long top..... i just stared at the boys looking at them trying to look under like wild animals.... men... men.. men.. sigh

was here on a friday night a few weeks ago... sister in-law's friends were playing among other local musicians... as you enter, be careful cus you're going straight down a steep flight of stairs... awesome darwinian architechture (if there's anything called that)... if you're drunk and not paying attention, you will fall down and break some bones and/or die... :) the venue's way of trying to help with population control... once you make it down the steep steps you have the bar to the right and an open space in front of you where people can stand around and mingle... it's a pretty intimate and old feel to the place... like an old speakeasy... if you keep going straight you'll see the stage at the end and more open space for people to watch the musicians and mingle... it got a bit too crowded for my tastes... i think i'm getting more claustrophobic as i age and i don't want to be constantly bumped into strangers... the bartenders weren't anything special... but i guess that's how many of them get once the crowds gather in hopes of getting the bartender's attention for a drink... ps. the sound system they have sucks... or whoever set it up doesn't know what they're doing cus you couldn't hear the vocals of the singers at all... the guitars and drumms were way too overpowering... but this seems to be a common problem throughout most places i've been to watch these local bands play... it's a pity cus you're trying to enjoy the music and the song, but the fact of the matter is that you have no clue what they're singing... so i've started making up my own words....
