Do I feel slightly better than you for being ever so terribly in the know and in the now, having a VIP pass to see Major Lazer (which is a sort of communal collective of musical artists -- it's a kind of high-tech, futuristic, riotous Jamaican "dancehall" / Brazilian "baile funk" vibe) featuring legendary uber-producers Diplo and Switch (my favorite DJ) with special guest vocalist Santigold (that's how she spells her name now) and funny-man Andy Milonakis on their international tour promoting the forthcoming album "Guns Don't Kill People...Lazers Do" ... Maybe just a little!

Vessel...I've been here several times before. I always hope that it will be better than the last, but alas it just disappoints me every time. I think the idea is cool...especially when you describe it as being the club in the alley behind Nike Town. When you get there and stand in line hoping that you will be let in next by the guy who is controlling the ropes, but to no avail you have to KNOW the bouncer or have your friends who are already in sweet talk him into letting you in. PSH! It's not all that exclusive. Once you're down stairs, it's unbelievably hot and stuffy, then getting around to the bar or to your table is misery! The only reason I go here is for the my friends! Most of the times I've had a great time...because I was there with friends!

A good place to catch European soccer...much less crowded than the Mad Dog and they charge the same cover charge. The crowd in the evenings gets a bit rowdy but fun (read: Irish). Drinks are cheap but they don't take credit cards which is just annoying. One of the best draft pints of Guinness in town.
