by Alexa g. on Unfortunately they are eliminating their happy hour specials soon, *sigh* but I was glad to go and get a taste of said specials! $5.00 for a $13.00 steak, and $3.00 for mussels . Not being a big read meat eater I reluctantly ordered the steak, but was quite pleased with the outcome, it came out tender and without a trace of gristly bits. The mussels simmered in a coconut lime broth were also pretty tasty, after all who can really complain about an $8.00 meal? Parking that early was also easy as they have their own lot, although a bit small. On my second visit I again got the tasty steak albeit for a $13 price tag, along with the heavenly spiced mac and cheese! They have been able to accommodate our rather large groups on 2 separate occasions and I definitely have to give them props for that!

This all-in-one destination is fun and open late- even on weekdays. Although the interior is borderline tacky, the deserts are devine (I recommend the brownie sundae) and the cocktails are just right. Sugar Cafe attracts design geeks on their macs, couples on their first dates, tourists checking their email, and groups of friends catching up. So whoever you are, you'll fit right in :)
