by g m. on The food is okay but the service is HORRIBLE. I've eaten here consistently for a couple years because of it's convenience of location but I've finally had enough. It takes too long to get any kind of table service: the drinks, food, everything takes entirely too much time. And forget about anyone coming to check up on your table. You even have to flag down bus boys to get water or salsa refills. Don't be fooled by the managers walking around tentatively because they truly don't care when they ask "how is everything?" if they ask at all. This place sucks! go to el cholo down the street on fair oaks or find another place.
by Kaley Lucidi on one word to describe this place: PRETENTIOUS!!!!!! The only good thing was that there is no admission fee and the decor is fabulous and very unique. We went on a friday nite, i hear they usually have mixed music, but the particular nite we went, it was mainly house type music. It's a good thing i went with a bunch of girls. They won't let guys in unless they were escorted by a girl. Makes you think you were in vegas or something. We couldn't even sit down on the couches bc they were "reserved" except they really weren't. We ended up going across the way to john collins...better laid back atmosphere, and better music!!
by Craig E. on Ok, this place is cheesy, I'll definitely admit that, but who cares!! If you're going out around Union Square, that's pretty much what you're going to get no matter where you are in the neighborhood. So, beyond the cheese, sitting at the top of the Francis Drake, drinking a perfectly chilled martini, looking out at the entire city and being with someone you love, it really couldn't be much better. Yeah, the martini was $10, yeah, the place is covered in velvet and yeah, it's definitely filled with tourists, but it's out of the ordinary and they make a mean drink. Definitely a great place to take a date, just make sure you preface your visit with a little disclaimer about the cheesiness and you'll love it!
