I'll agree with almost everyone in saying this is one of the best live venues Philly has to offer. Went to see Sunset Rubdown last night and if I can offer one word of advice, it's to avoid standing by the edge of the bar, near the stage. Everyone will be bumping into you trying to get through to the center/back of the room. If you get there early enough, run upstairs, grab a stool and pull it up to the railing. That's the best view in the house. $3 Lionshead and Kenzinger drafts. I prefer the Lionshead. Is that so wrong?

I was really impressed with our visit to Top Flr. Having never heard of it, we were invited by a couple friends for dinner. There is a downstairs bar, which we didn't get to sample, however it was quite busy. Not exactly surprising given it was a Sat. night. First thoughts upon entering the upstairs restaurant was, "wow, this place is incredibly small!" The restaurant seats approx. 36 however they appear to make great use of their space. Choice wallpaper, seating and fixtures quickly take your eye off the size of the place and immediately gives you a feeling of stylish intimacy. Enough about the space- to the food! Virtually all of their menu items appeared appetizing so it made for a difficult time in choosing what to have. Our four top settled on sharing the white bean hummus, which was decent, not amazing, and the edamame, which was up to par with what would be expected (hard to mess up edamame). For dinner, I had the salmon as an entree, and the mac 'n cheese and lebanese couscous. Both were very good and the portions were just right. I sampled the fiance's pork tenderloin, which was great, and a friend's hanger steak which was very tender and tasty. Overall a very pleasurable experience and highly recommended for a try.

In case you've been living in a bubble, I am VIP b*tches! Hahaha. Yeah, so I haven't been to Webster Hall in like 3 years. It was always a good time back in the pre-21 days, and I'm glad to see after so many years, it's still poppin. 4 levels, 8 DJs, incredibleness. The bouncers and bartenders (minus this one girl who I want to pop in the jaw so bad!) are really sweet and helpful. And VIP above the main dance floor - aah could it get any better!? No, it really can't. Webster Hall will always be my favorite venue in the city.
