Meh. I've experienced better. The End. j/k but forreals, I've been to this place twice and it was just "aiight." First time I came here was like waaaay back in like 2005. It was for a gay event, so I went out with my gay friends. It was cool. I remember it only having one bar open, and other side had pool tables. But it was cool 'cause I got to be a hag, and I didn't have to worry about being eye raped by guys or worse even groped on. Which is always the upside of going to a "gay club." if you will. I recently returned to 330 Ritch on Friday. This time, not for a gay event. The crowd was really mixed. And they really spruced up the place. It looks better. The drinks were a bit pricey. And the music they played was really weird. For about 1.5 hours straight, the DJ was spinning some wack ass songs. Like he'd play something good, like something top 40, then mix in a weird high techno, house shit. It was weird and totally throwing off my grove. However by the end of the night, I guess the next DJ's set was pretty good. Hip-hop, R&B, top 40 shit. Pretty good, although I could think of a few songs to get me really into it. But whatevs. 330 Ritch, you aiight. Not my first choice, but I guess I could give it another go, but I'd probably prefer it to be free. Guestlist was still $5. Which isn't that bad, but for the time I had there it was annoying to pay for it.

I saw Sasha and Digweed here over the week of WMC 2007. The crowd was pretty chilled out and friendly, but that's the usual with a progressive Sasha and Digweed set. A lot of other rateclubsers have done well in capturing the essence of this place, so I'll just mention my most prominent impressions: Mansion doesn't have a disco ball; Mansion has a huge disco mirror star that throws the light in cool ways. I loved this thing, and it was the first time I've ever seen one. Every now and then, someone would order a bottle of the champaign with the sparkler in it. It distracted everyone each time a waitress had to push through the crowd to deliver one. I thought the LED lit outfits that the house dancers wore were cool, but I'm a geek like that.

Last night I went to Grammy with four friends and we ended up having a really great time. It was clean and fun looking, the rooms were nicely set up and comfortable, and the song selection in English I'd grade as a "B". Had plenty of songs to keep us busy for a few hours and lots more that went unsung. The staff is good, although they're a little rusty on the english, however the food is awesome and they have pretty reasonable booze prices (a bottle of Grey Goose with Mixers and candy for $120?!). On top of that, at the end they brought us all fresh berries in chocolate sauce on little plates and were very good about splitting up the check. I usually go to Maru, and while it might not look quite as upscale, it certainly gets the job done for a good price. They charged us $50 an hour and I think we were the only people in there that night, but it was the day after New Years Eve, most people were probably partied out. Recommended!
