I really, really wanted to love Bush!, but--well--I like to get the food that I order and that didn't happen. The scenario: Saturday night, date night for my girlfriend and me. We were planning on a nice glass of wine (which, thankfully, we got), some small plates, and maybe a dessert. We got our wine and small plate and all was good, minus the fact that we could not get the attention of the bartender or waiter, who were much more attuned to the cute boys than to us. Enter an order for extra bread and a dessert. Watch the waiter give both of these to the next table. Try to get someone, anyone's attention. Wait some more. Finally, go to the bar and tell the bartender that we need to leave post haste. Hold your tongue while the bartender offers to give you your dessert for free, even though you just told him that you have you have to leave NOW. Tip exactly 15%, then leave, sad because you didn't get your chocolate fondant but excited to see your movie. The end.

I've been here a few times. My most memorable experience was my dinner experience. What a pretty place with lots of pretty people (pardon my seemingly pretentious view, I quite enjoy people watching). Oh, the food was delectable as well. The bar/lounge area is very dark; you need to adjust your eyes to the lighting. However, once you adjust your eyes, you'll be treated to a pleasant, yet uncomplicated, decor. Step forth into the dining area, and you are treated to a full frontal attack of all your senses; the beautiful decor, the ambiance of mingling peoples, the smell of great food being served. Nice. Dinnertime invites a loud roar from you should you want your guest(s) to hear your thoughts. But, have a drink (or not), drop your inhibitions, and shout amongst the company. That's the environment. Embrace it; enjoy it. My recommendation, Chilean Sea Bass = goodness. ps: you'll be happy to know, they serve stiff drinks.

A huge crowd of my friends and I came on New Year's Eve, where Oscar's had a crowd just the right size and no smokiness. My inebriated friend begged me to take the paper placemat listing the different mixed drinks and ingredients, and so I did. I did practically have to sit on a booster seat in order to reach my very tall, cold glass of PBR, which was only 2 or 3 buckaroos. Who can argue with the basics delivered right? :)
