Best club in Seattle on Saturday night if you are into asian girls. Although girls here are on their defensive side, if you play your game right, you can have the best time in town. Pros: young people crowded hiphop music dressed to impress guys and girls Cons: guy to girl ratio is usually 2:1 expensive drinks entrance not free

I abhor the "meat packing" district so much that I have successfully avoided ever having to say its name in full. I simply say MEPA. I've lived in New York for over 10 years and even I enjoyed the Buddha Bar last night! I know however that the six of us had a good time was only due to the fact that several variables were aligned perfectly such as: - it was a freezing cold night - it was a Sunday night - we were there at 8 PM (thus avoiding the usual craptacular MEPA crowd) - we ate in the bar area instead of sitting down for "linen service" The decor is definitely the best feature of the place. Its dark and opulent with ominous doors. The hallway is flanked by metal Asian figurines that may or may not start shooting death poison darts at you, and it makes you feel like you are in an Indiana Jones movie where you have to steal the giant Buddha statue in the back of the temple. So yeah, super fun! The food at the bar was delicious. The portions are really too small for a group of 6 to share, but the quality made up for quantity. The sushi rolls were pretty on par with some of the best sushi restaurants in town, and the fish was fresh and had a nice chill to it. The chicken samosa however did not please. It tasted like ground beef and the extremely, extremely flaky phyllo dough is a big NO-NO for any girls wearing sticky lip gloss! As for the music, soooo corny. We couldn't believe our ears when the DJ put on Enigma's Mea Culpa. That was scary. It made us think of other equally awful late 90's "nomad music" like Deep Forest... (shiver shiver). If the DJ wasn't so hot (tall, belly exposing dark hair woman) it would be unforgivable and intolerable. The crowd didn't look local that's for damn sure. Mainly out of towners, suspiciously tanned & blonde women wearing Juicy Couture, and other than the employees, the men there were generic in completely unmemorable attire with no apparent personal style.

This has been the celebratory restaurant for my fiance and myself for a while. He would like me to say that it's his favorite restaurant. Pod isn't my favorite, but I've always had a fabulous dinner. My personal favorite dish is the wasabi-crusted filet mignon. I've never had sushi there that was not fresh, and we are sushi snobs. There are better places in the city if all you want is sushi, but you will not be let down by their selection or quality. Yes, the decor is modern (I like it). Yes, it's a Steven Star restaurant. Yes, it's slightly overpriced. All that aside, Pod is worth at least one visit.
