by Alex D. on Is it just me, or does everyone and their brother think they can open an Irish Bar? Listen, if you're thinking about it, go to Fado and see if you can do better--you cannot. Just having Guinness on tap and a name like Seamus O' Toole's does not an Irish pub make. This place is big, fun and has a great beer selection. I had fish tacos here and was shocked at how good they were. Blew that Tin Lizzy AND Taqueria del Sol out of the water! Great place to watch World Cup, have some good beers and fun.
by Andy H. on Over priced and under portioned! The tangerine martini was good (vanilla vodka, tangerine puree and a splash of club soda). The atmosphere was good. The staff was very professional. That's about where it ends. The concept is very strange. It's communal which means they just put the plates of food in the middle of the table and you're just supposed to eat whatever hits your fork (even if you didn't order it)! I went with a friend and between the two of us we spent a minimum of $75 for two plates of food with portions about the size of a half dollar. The presentation of the food was good but when I go to a restaurant the main reason I go is to eat - not gawk at the presentation of the food or the atmosphere (although atmosphere is the second most important thing on my list. I don't want to be eating in the middle of a landfill or homeless shelter). Especially when I spend $75 I expect to receive MOUNTAINS of food! Maybe my expectations are just a little too high for Tangerine!
by Owen Lober on I am giving a review of Prana the restaurant and not of the Temple Nightclub. So now that we have that squared away, this place actually surprised me in terms of their food. I was hosting a birthday party here with some friends and the reason we had the dinner here was that our plan was to have the nightclub portion of the night here at Temple as well. Make it easier on our guests so they would not have to look for parking twice. So the decision to have dinner here was more for convenience and not for their food. But I'm pretty glad we came cause the portions were pretty big and we were all pretty full. The Appetizers were FULL Size. So my expectations were certainly exceeded and that's what makes a good review. I guess it is good to sometimes lower your expectations. A restaurant inside of a nightclub you would not expect to have decent food and even based on some of the reviews here, I was not expecting much but they certainly delivered on my night so for me, that's all that matters....
