Okay, so this is my second time @ Loca Luna. My first visit was actually last summer for my cousin's bachelorette party. From what I can remember, the food was pretty decent and we had an okay time. However, my four stars are coming from the great time I had Friday night. A friend and I decided we wanted to hear some music and maybe dance after dinner on Fri night, then I remembered Loca Luna. No Cover, Valet Parking and Live Music & a DJ. It was great. I think some people must be confused, because Loca Luna is definitely not a club, but it did have all the elements (liquor flowing, people dancing, great music). Oh yes, as Courtney C. said, there were definitley cute guys in the building ;) The drinks are good also. Of course I ordered up a Mojito, but for some reason I wasn't feeling much of a buzz after I had finished my second one. So I asked the bartender (Jennifer) if she could suggest something a little stronger. Thats when she made me a Passion Fruit Caipirinha that knocked my socks off. After my second one, I was in the middle of the dance floor working up a sweat (and a hangover)! I'm planning on going back Wed for Ladies Night, where they have free Salsa lessons and the apps are 1/2 off.

Honestly, it wasn't as bad as I had expected after reading all the rateclubs reviews. I went last Saturday for my roommate's birthday. We came early (around 10) and had one of the front booths reserved. It was fine, no groping from sleazy guys, but then again I did primarily stay in the VIP area. The bottle service was nice, but not amazing or anything. I was happy that the crowd was diverse, instead of predominantly Asian. The only thing I didn't like was the girls on the bar, but that's because I don't have a penchant for looking up cellulite thighs. I felt that the girls dancing up there gave the club a sleazier feel than necessary... I don't think I would come here again, but it definitely wasn't as horrible as the previous reviews say...

Just spent the best NYE of my life here. Thanks to Big Sandy and The New Morty Show. My mom's birthday is NYE which means that her birthday is frequently forgotten and that any Christmas presents she gets often have to do double duty. This year we convinced her to come up to SF to celebrate in style. My stepdad, brother and brother's GF were coming along for the festivities and we needed to find something fabulous that would appeal to all ages. Our group was 26 to 60-something (sorry, mom) and that was no easy feat. Hubs was charged with the task and did an excellent job. Although it was packed we were still able to: * get a drink without waiting forever * find enough space to dance * find our friends * AND push our way to the front when the songs were bumping (and they were almost always bumping) My mom said it was the best birthday she's ever had, and my little bro said it was the best New Year's he could remember (maybe he didn't drink enough if he could remember?) Fabulous night! I know where we're going next year.
