I have been to Cover 3 about a half-dozen times now and I've always had a good experience. The food and service have always been solid. I recently went for the brunch and was really content after my beef tenderloin Eggs Benedict, hashbrowns and Cover 3 Press (gin, lemongrass, cucumber and Sprite). I've had the chicken fried steak, hamburgers and almost every appetizer as well. I think the food is really consistent and this is a good date spot - just not a first date spot. At night there is ambience for the lady and sports on big screens for the men. I love their cocktails and there is a good variety of them. The prices are also reasonable. The brunch I was there for was a birthday party and for 8 people it was right around $100. They even let us bring in our own birthday cake and didn't hassle us about it. I also liked that because they knew it was for a birthday they called the day before to confirm my reservation.

I made it over to Flip Burger on Sat for lunch. As others have mentioned, parking is an issue. They do have a small lot, but at 1:30 the lot was full and the restaurant was not, so we had to drive around a bit. When I went up to the hostess, I was immediately told to take a seat at the bar. This was fine for us, but I thought the hostess could have asked us if we wanted to sit at the bar. Our server was very nice and quickly gave us the run down on the menu. She told us to order at least one burger and one side per person and she was right. The burger was smaller than I thought it would be, but very good. I had the Butchers Burger and my husband had the Philly. I get the feeling that this place is more about the toppings, than the actual burger. We also had the sweet potato tots and the vodka onion rings. I loved the onion rings, but thought the tots were too greasy. The sides are also a bit pricey at $4.50 for a small glass. Overall, I did enjoy my visit to Flip. I will give them a few weeks to work out some of the kinks and they revisit and see if it is still living up to the hype.

Maybe I'm just easy to please but my experience at SCK was really great. I love the southern menu options - two of us had the shrimp, scallops, and grits. I ate my share of them despite the mouth watering duck and sweet potato balls that sat in front of me (i ate my share of that as well). My dad had mahi-mahi and basically licked the plate clean so i can only deduce that it was up to expectation. I only have a few complaints but it's mostly just me being nit-picky. The seats on the patio are small and odd and seem to remind you that eating too much will only make you fatter. I'm a thin guy but even my butt felt a little squeezed. My poor mom probably had a little overflow ;) Also, once the sun went down the most abundant light was from the orange street lamp which is relatively un-romantic. Oh, and I'm a beer guy so i was a little bummed they don't have a wide selection of beer to make up for the lack of tap. Our waiter was courteous and efficient and you could tell he liked working there and took pride in it's history (especially the enduring menu items). 4 Stars and some change.
