Went during daytime bar crawl. A. Was better when it was coyote ugly (what? I like chicks dancing on stage, c'mon) B. Make your own bloody mary was an okay gimmick, t'was expensive though C. Waitress was mad sweet and did not pester our group D. Was packed due to footy match btwn Eng and US...but since there's lots of space, was not uncomfortable E. Fish n' chips were delish, but was not satisfying...they give you much more fish...and chips in England I will hit again, if they revert back to coyote ugly.

Not really sure I understand the appeal of this place. Cheap, bad beer in one of the ugliest bars i've seen is not my idea of a good time, unless it's at a true dive bar. But this isn't your fantastic dive bar...this is a fratty, ugly little space that plays the same generic crappy music that all the other bars in the area play. I go here on tuesdays if i need to get loaded on the cheap...two for one drafts, which is really a good price. But god is it depressing! My friend and i are one of about 10 people in the place, and with that crappy music on loud, you feel like you got to talked into making face at the party of the kid in college that nobody liked, so nobody showed up except your ass. This place sucks, but come here to get loaded if you are in the area.

Ah, Blake's. It's probably the first gay bar visited by a new comer to Atlanta. And that says a lot about Blake's - it's a mainstay, and it attracts a generic and diverse enough crowd to please anyone before they start branching out to more "specialized" locales like Jungle, Hoedown's, wetBAR, Heretic, and the like. Blake's recent renovation of their upstairs area has turned the space into a more open lay out, with a nice central square bar, and large picture windows to...well, the parking lot. But it's a nice feel. However, it's a stark contrast from the dark wood downstairs, with a neutral paint scheme on drywall and some thoughtfully directed lights. So Blake's is now a bar with two vibes - a little more "big metro" upstairs, and more "neighborhood" downstairs. But the drinks are good, the bartenders nice, and the space cozy enough and large enough to accommodate everyone. Blake's is definitely the spot of choice to either start a wild night or have a more relaxed night out with a few friends.
