by Lisa B. on I have had many good times at Velvet Room. This place is small, but still has an adequate amount of space for dancing. The decor is extremely well put together. The bartenders are fantastic but I could do without the go-go dancers who spend most of the night text messaging on their cell phones. I have always gone on Saturday nights and the DJ plays a good range of music. If you can afford to be sure to get a private booth area with bottle service.
by Danny Mastrelli on I've always walked by this place but never went in so I asked my date to meet me there for before dinner drinks. This place cracks me up. Another poster was right, it is like sitting in your old uncle's rumpus room. It certainly is old school in here, lots of shiny wood all around. I definitely did not get a gay vibe in here. What I got was like a nursing home vibe. i swear everyone was like over 60 in there. And I was the only girl. It was quite hillarious. There was a lot of toupees in there. The bartender was cool and very friendly. I think he wanted someone around his age to talk to. The prices were pretty reasonable as well. This place is cool if you just want to talk to someone and drink but that's about it.
