Good vegan burgers (same as the other Fergie-Tom Peters restaurants), great fries, excellent blackened green beans, and my carnivore friends swear by their real burgers. The beer selection is good, with a nice mix of local drafts (including Nodding Head Grog fairly often) and the always awesome Monk's Sour Ale. Service is occasionally good (Reese is a fantastic dude), occasionally spotty and unnecessarily stuck up. It's small, attracts a good mixed crowd--professional drunks, hipsters, runoff from the Penn Museum (pre-South-St-Bridge-closing), and neighborhood locals. The space is beautiful and rarely too packed, and is by far the best option in the neighborhood (haven't yet tried Pub & Kitchen, but Grace blows Ten Stone and Doobies away). So, relaxed, good beer, and good food. Pretty perfect for a neighborhood bar which doesn't try to be anything else, much to the chagrin of trendbots who have managed to find their way out of Old City.
by Hank Guidetti on We went to Sunday Brunch at Dbar for our first visit. I hade the Drunk & Naked Lobster Omelet ($13.95) and he had the Classic Eggs Benedict ($9.95). We both loved our meal, and had bacon on the side ($3.95) which was divine! The Bloody D bloody Mary extra spicy ($7.50) was the best I have had in a long long time. The cost for brunch is a bit expensive, but definitely a great place to go if you're feeling decadent. Parking can be tough, but we got there on Sunday at 12:30, hardly any customers, so no waiting.
by niki m. on This place feels like a high school reunion. The only reason I say that is so many people from my past flock here for the cheap drinks, and patio on Mondays, that I can't bring myself to go again. Too bad, I'm missing out on the bargain deals.
