The draft selection could be better as well as the prices but oh well. The menu looked amazing and the dude next to us at the bar had some amazing looking scallops. We tried out a chicken quesodilla. They do have a dollar off drinks during happy hour but that is still pretty pricey.

I am proud that, not only is this my 100th review, but I am the first to review this fine establishment. It's NBA Finals time. They bring the Laker love! The food is free! It seems homemade! In fact, there is a very homey feeling to this place, as the chef wanders around and asks how the food is... I personally had a bad reaction to the chicken tacos, but I'm sure it's just my fickle preferences. Great place to catch the game & have some drinks. Very friendly guy at the door (thanks for the invitation!). This place is gonna start having comedy & musical acts, I'm told. Check it out!

There's a lot to Trudy's and if you cant get past the bad, you'll never appreciate what you 'should' be going there for in the first place. I'll start with the bad. The service sucks, its a bunch of Austin hippies who don't care if you eat or not just as long as you dont make their job more difficult. The seating arrangements are terrible, you'll find yourself easily cramped and god forbid you need to go to the bathroom or the bar, you will have to shuck and jive your way to your destination. The food is not too bad, I would say its a slightly upscale Tex Mex restaurant. Now the good - Trudy's Mexican Martinis (2 drink limit, with good reason). They serve you the chilled martini with the full shaker included. If I'm not mistaken, they're about $6 each, $8 for the top shelf which includes Patron instead of Jose Cuervo. If you want to be sneaky you can order your two (the waiters are under strict instruction to stop serving them after 2) and then have a friend order another for you. This results in a lot of bad shit happening to you for the rest of the night but if you just got laid off or dumped/cheated on and you need to drink away the pain, it's a good idea.
