Gross. I give it one extra star based on the hilarious late-night bar scene, which everyone has to experience at least once. But the food is abominable and wretchedly overpriced. Come for the drinks and people-watching at the bar, eat somewhere else.

Oh my God for my first day in Philly----i was sooo happy to find Cafe Lift. The food is amazing, staff = friendly, didnt wait too long for our order, and the prices are totally reasonable! I loved it and I will definitely be back ( a lot)!

One of the few places in Boston that plays good electronic music, which is why it gets 3.5 stars. I have gone to this bar several times throughout the years, however I went last Wednesday and it smelled like a dead raccoon's butthole inside of the bar and our drinks were horrible! How can a gin and tonic be so bad? The draft beer, on the other hand, was tasty and fresh. The bartender was very friendly and provided fast service. The people there were pleasant enough and there was minimal to no dancing the last time I went . I have been there at times when there are people out there doing the fish dance on the floor. One time I was there and some sketchy dude asked me if I wanted to go sniff some illegal substances in the bathroom. An interesting and unique place, and although it reeks, I find far superior to some yuppie "lounge" where I can buy a Corona for $9.
